What is an Explorer?
The Brevard County Sheriffs Office Explorer Program is a
Volunteer program
for young people between the ages of 13 and 21.
The program allows the
Explorers to learn the "in's and out's" of
law enforcement. Deputy "ride a longs",
explorer competitions and
community events are some of the details the
explorers get to be
involved with. These events are exciting, fun and
rewarding for the
explorers.
A selection process is used
to determine who is acceptable for the program.
The process involves an
initial application, an oral interview, a background check,
and
satisfactory grades (Minimum 2.0 GPA). After being selected, an explorer
is
put on 6 months probation. Upon successful completion of the
requirements and
process you can become an official Brevard County
Sheriffs Office Explorer
